Project: Virtous Magazine Spread

Concept: To grasp an understanding on how to create a magazine layout before taking the idea to digital format

Description: First, various ideas of the magazine were thumbnail sketches. Once a layout was chosen, the magazine would be drawn out in full size. The black and white layout was created using a pencil and various shades of gray markers. The font size and leading is represented by the amount of spacing between the lines, also known as "body copy". When the black and white drawing of the magazine was approved, the next step was to create the layout in color. For the color layout, the body copy would still be represented as lines, but the imagery and additional elements in the magazine would be represented in color. After the color layout was approved, it would then move to digital format.
