Design Layout

Design Layout consists of a series of steps that begin the making of a project. The first step is Visualization. Within this step development of the layout requires brainstorming. Next, thumbnails are produced. Creating thumbnails allows the designer to put thoughts on paper. Thumbnail sketches are miniature drawings where the designer tries different arrangements of the elements. The goal of this process is to try out and decide on a layout that has effective placement of headlines, art, and copy. Then, the designer is to produce a Rough Layout. The rough layout is an actual size drawing of the finished project. All elements are resented as clear and accurate as possible, as far as size, style, spacing, and placement. However, it is not quite as finished as a comprehensive. Finally, the Comprehensive. This step is often in digital format, which displays exactly how the project will appear when it is printed.
